The Importance of Self-Love
What is SELF-LOVE? It is regard for one’s own well-being and happiness. It means thinking of yourself first and putting your own well-being above everything else. Self-love is vital to living well. It impacts who you pick for a partner, the persona you project at work, on your craft, or in your business, and how you manage the problems that arise in your life.
It is important to have self-love as it promotes healthy and happy vibes in daily life. It helps us have our own personal space and leads us to know more about ourselves. By knowing ourselves more, we can love others. Loving others and looking at the positive side every single day adds up. With this, you are bound to achieve your dreams and goals. You are always on your toes, ready to face challenges. More so, you are free from stress and anxiety. You are bound to be successful in everything that you do.
I think self-love conquers all! When you love yourself you are confident on who you are and the achievements that you have unlocked regardless of your status in life.
Self-love is also based on your past experiences in life. Often we focus on the mistakes we have made, our wrong decisions, and toxic relationships and we decide we don’t deserve self-love. Your past does not need to dictate your future though.
If you want to start loving yourself more, here are some few tips that you can incorporate:
- Self-care always. No self-love without self-care.
Exercises and activities where you care for your body and mind help you love yourself. They also provide additional mental and physical health benefits such as reduced stress and increased stamina.
- Make priorities. List them and adjust.
Figure out what is important to you and protect its importance.
- Know your worth and invest in yourself.
Save a little money and buy things that you want to have (shop until you drop) or find time for a wonderful holiday vacation. Go to a spa and have a massage, pamper yourself, do something that feels good!
- Become mindful.
Be mindful of who you are and act on this knowledge, rather than on what others want for you. You know exactly what you feel and want, and what you think.
- Forgive yourself.
Practice being not so hard on yourself when you make a mistake.
- Protect yourself.
Surround yourself with the right people in your life. Get rid of those people who take pleasure in your loss or pain rather than your success and happiness. (Yeah, they are your “frenemies”) So no!
- Live intentionally.
When your intention is to live a bright, happy and healthy life, you will make resolutions that hold this intention, and feel great about yourself when you thrive in this purpose.
No one can make us feel happy and loved unless we create the space for practicing self-love. Apply 4 or 5 of these tips and you are on your way to nailing your destiny.
